Gerrard update leaves doubt about Rangers star (Via HITC)

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has said goalkeeper Allan McGregor is a doubt for the club's upcoming Scottish League Cup semi-final against Hearts, in an interview with BT Sport on Wednesday night.

The veteran Gers star missed out on last night's trip to Dingwall to play Ross County after landing awkwardly during a Sunday match at Ibrox.

Wes Foderingham came into the side without incident, helping his team to a clean sheet.

Gerrard had hope that McGregor would be quickly back in action, but taking no risks, he now thinks he could miss the big Hampden clash on Sunday.

Speaking pre-match on Wednesday, Gerrard told BT Sport: "He tried it yesterday, he was still in some pain so we done the sensible thing. You can't take any risks with your goalkeeper.

"He done his best to be here but unfortunately he couldn't pull through.

"Hopefully he'll be available at the weekend but where we're at right now, he's a doubt."
