There are undoubted similarities between Southampton's former Rangers midfielder and the new Ibrox favourite Greg Docherty.
Greg Docherty has not hogged too many headlines since he signed for Rangers from Hamilton Academical in the January transfer window for £675,000, as reported by the Scotsman.
But the diminutive midfielder continues to go about his work effectively and efficiently for Graeme Murty’s side. Docherty made his seventh appearance for his new club in the 4-1 thrashing of St Johnstone on Tuesday night and, once again, earned plenty of praise from supporters for his busy, energetic performance.
Watching Docherty buzz around the pitch, link play, hassle and harry, it is difficult not to be reminded of a certain former Rangers favourite who the fans would love to see return to Ibrox.
There had been rumours that Steven Davis could make an emotional return to the blue half of Glasgow from Premier League side Southampton in the summer, six years after he departed following their demotion to the fourth tier.
