"If they're not good enough for Norwich, I don't want them at Rangers"
A commonly said line amongst some of our fans. However, many have been misinformed. It appears to be public belief that the trio of ex - Rangers players are due to be released because they haven't cut it at Norwich... This is, in fact wrong.
Why are Norwhich clearing out our ex players? The answer is simple, and all too familiar: they can't afford them, and need to cut the wage bill, which, makes sense.... When you consider the fact that Naismith is reportedly on 50k a week (that's £2.4 million a year). Oh, and they recently bought him for £8.5 Million... Ouch.
"£2.4 million wage?! How on earth could we afford him???".
Simple answer is on that on that much money... We can't. However, it's said that Naismith is willing to cut his wage in order to pen a deal to come "home" to Ibrox. Whittaker is to be released because of his wage AND his age (33), and Lafferty is being released... Because it's Lafferty. (Just kidding, big man).
Who, if any, would you take on at Ibrox? Article written by Ben Munro of Rangers fans channel For me, it would be Naismith above anyone else.
