Rangers: Who to keep? “Clear out?”

Those are the words on our lips. But just how realistic is a clear out? How many players should we keep, and for what reasons? Below are my opinions.

Foderingham: A strong contender for player of the season, this man has saved us many times. Despite his shaky start, we have seen Foderingham grow in both ability and consistency. A breath of fresh air in the team. Rumour has it he wasn’t 100% fit against Celtic.

Clint Hill: Hill brings both age and experience into the squad, and despite an inconsistent first few games, Hill has proven to be one of Warburton’s better investments. But just how long can he go on? As he’s nearing 40, Hill won’t have a long future with Rangers, but perhaps a coaching contract could be on the cards in the next couple of seasons.

Jason Holt: A tough decision, but I would opt to keep him. Despite his knack of losing possession, Holt puts 100% into every game, which can’t be said for most. Holt likes to play fast, direct, attacking football… Which is the exact style of the new manager, so this is why he edges it for me.

Kenny Miller: “You can’t be sentimental when it comes to football”. While I believe this quote is true, I stand firmly by Rangers for giving Miller an extension. Player of the season, top scorer and fan favourite, he simply couldn’t have done any more to deserve putting pen to paper. Don’t let his age fool you, he has a few miles left in his engine yet.

Myles Beerman: Despite two very bad decisions is two games against Celtic, I would opt to keep him. He’s only young and has a lot to learn… Considering he’s filling the captains boots.. I think he’s done a fantastic job. Now it’s your turn to discuss.
